Orange is a Roman town

One weekend, a drive to Orange. Yes, it is a town in the north-west of Avignon. It has an ancient theatre, one of the oldest Roman theatres in Europe, but not an amphitheatre like the one in Nimes… Still a magnificent structure, and is still used for events and functions.

Wandering up and down the town centre, we came across a herbal garden. Oh, I remember, there was a young woman on the phone, walking up and down in the garden. She was evidently upset, swearing at the man (or woman?) at the other end of the line, on and on, for well over 30 minutes, trying to breaking up with him (or her?). Oh dear…
